"La gente que cambia el mundo nunca se muere", escribió Juan Galeano, vocalista de Diamante Eléctrico, luego de enterarse del fallecimiento de Charlie Watts, y Galeano está en lo cierto. Aunque Watts haya partido del mundo terrenal, su legado quedará para siempre en la historia de la música. Sus baquetas y los ritmos que logró crear con ellas quedarán inmortalizados, no solo en las canciones de The Rolling Stones, sino en la memoria de sus seguidores.
Charlie, un amante del jazz, que no sabía cómo tocar rock and roll terminó siendo el baterista de una de las agrupaciones más legendarias y longevas en este género, desde 1963 hizo parte de los Stones y según Mick Jagger y Keith Richards, Watts era el verdadero líder de The Rolling Stones.
